Wrap yourself up in a riot of colour to keep those chills and grey days away! A nice easy pattern, suitable for a beginner, with lots of lovely colour and no ends to weave in. Pattern Notes This pattern is for a slowly curving garter stitch scarf, worked in rows. Skill Level Beginner Very simple stitches and no end to weave in. Yarn: Patons Smoothie DK 1 ball of each of the following: 1010 – Lime 1035 – Red 1095 – Mint 1097 – Gold 1098 – Denim 1099 – Magenta 2000 – Linen 2001 – Pale Blue 2003 – Pale Pink 2006 – Orange You could use most other DK yarns for this pattern, especially as in a scarf gauge isn’t really critical. You also don’t need to use as many colours as I did, you could easily use just 4 different colours of Smoothie DK (1 ball (220 yards) of each colour), Or, if you really want to, you could knit it all in one colour which would only take 700 yards. The Piece of Cake Cable Romper and Hat Knitting Pattern is a lovely model that suits both boys and girls. With this pattern you will be able to knit two pieces: the romper and the hat. If you have never knitted cables before and want to give them a try, this is the perfect pattern for you!! All the steps are explained in detail and with lots of photos of the process. The romper is worked flat in reverse stockinette stitch (purl on the right side and knit on the wrong side), in two pieces. It has a center basic cable pattern (which is explained in detail on the pattern) at the front and a simple rib in the chest and leg openings. The romper features straps that are buttoned up on the chest. The hat is knitted in one flat piece from the casting on rib edge at the bottom and working towards the top in reverse stockinette stitch (purl on the right side and knit on the wrong side), where it has a soft shaping for a close fit, ending with a back seam. It has a center basic cable pattern (which is explained in detail on the pattern). FULL INSTRUCTIONS ARE GIVEN IN THE PATTERN. Pattern group: Auroraknit’s blankets, for help, support, promotion info and chat . A simple textured striped blanket for a crib/small cot or pram. Tension is not critical, yarn used increased when blocked. Different tensions will affect size and amount of yarn used. Easy enough to make bigger; width ways increase cast on in multiples of 4. Length ways, moss stitch section can be increased to 6 or 8 rows instead of 4, stocking stitch sections can be increased from 6 to 8 rows, or the whole pattern repeat can be repeated more than 4 times.
